Chinanews.com, Lanzhou, March 29 (Gao Kangdi Gao Ying) "Holding a golden bowl'begging' is a true portrayal of myself." Recently, Liu Shijie, president of the Gansu Provincial Collection Association and researcher of the Lanzhou University Cultural Relics Identification and Restoration Center, accepted Sino-Singapore In an exclusive interview with a reporter from the Net, the cultural relics collection is a close communication with history, and the spiritual acquisition and enjoyment is incomparable.

In 1989, 29-year-old Liu Shijie accidentally saw the vivid figures on a piece of Lanzhou Yellow River stone, the landscapes and the flowers and birds, he was deeply attracted by this rich picture, and since then opened the door to the collection of cultural relics.

"Collecting must learn to'identify true and false'." Although he is a layman, Liu Shijie does not think this is difficult. Having a wealth of historical knowledge is the basis, so he bought relevant books to read. "The more you read, the more you feel that you are'ignorant'. And the more attracted by the history contained in cultural relics."

Liu Shijie, who started to learn about collecting while doing business, feels that his life has been given a new meaning. Whenever he has free time, he goes to the nearby antique city to listen to some identification tips, and he also goes to the street stall to see what the "fake" is. In this way, as the amount of knowledge increased, I began to go to museums around the world to feast my eyes on, go to auctions to learn about market prices, and make friends with common hobbies.

Gradually, Liu Shijie has basically mastered some well-known identification methods, but it is far from enough to "enter the industry". "Visual inspection accounts for 80%, and equipment identification is only an aid," he said.

"Identification is a complex and comprehensive process. Without thorough knowledge of history, identification is impossible to talk about." In addition to insisting on reading related books for 3 hours a day, Liu Shijie also signed up for an identification training class and was completely immersed in it. "Materials used in each dynasty , Craftsmanship, modelling, and the degree of sizing are different, each has its own particularity, which contains endless history and culture".

In order to collect, Liu Shijie sold the investment real estate and shops, and his family members were puzzled. Only he knew that “touching every collection is a'talk' to history, and every imprint is the telling of history.”

Once, through a friend, I learned that someone was going to resell a piece of porcelain privately overseas. Liu Shijie hurriedly contacted his friend and went to the scene to stop the incident. “Cultural relics cannot be copied, let alone money-driven exchanges”.

Brush washes unearthed from the Longquan kiln of the Song Dynasty, paintings by Li Kuchan, and ancient phoenix blankets in the Qing Dynasty. There are hundreds of Chinese cultural relics collected from all over the world in Liu Shijie’s collection room. He said that these treasures should be well protected. If necessary, He will also donate to the country.

Over time, Liu Shijie has become a leader in identifying cultural relics in Gansu Province. On weekdays, many people ask him to identify his own objects.

He has encountered people who were emotionally out of control by "buying fake products at high prices," and he also encountered the unexpected joy of failing to correctly recognize the real product.

In the future, Liu Shijie intends to organize free cultural relics exhibitions with many local collectors to allow more people to view historical relics, and at the same time popularize the identification methods. "Although fakes cannot be completely eliminated, I hope that the popularization of easy-to-learn identification methods will make it difficult to circulate."
