A new media entirely online and 100% video targeting young Europeans aged 18 to 34 will soon see the light of day: this is ENTR, a multilingual media carried by the France Médias Monde group (RFI, France 24 and radio Arabic-speaking MCD) and its German counterpart Deutsche Welle.

The two public audiovisual groups, which have been developing joint initiatives for several years, announced this Monday this project for a multilingual and pan-European digital offer, which will begin broadcasting content on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram in French, German by this summer. , English, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian.

With a budget of 3.2 million euros for 2020, and coordinated by a Franco-German team of 12 journalists, it will rely on around ten partner media located in six countries.

ENTR wants to offer videos "on all the themes that arouse interest and make young people react the most on the Internet and social networks, by addressing them in their mother tongue and through the new digital formats and narrative modes of information ”, explain its creators in a press release.

An editorial line that is reminiscent of other 100% digital media that target young people on the networks, such as Brut, Monkey or Slash (from France Télévisions).

“Climate, employment, solidarity, culture, technologies… ENTR's reports produced, adapted or reinvented in different languages ​​are intended to make young people react across Europe, by breaking down language barriers, and to make them interact around major generational issues that they share, in all their differences, by contributing to their "European consciousness" ", underline France Médias Monde and Deutsche Welle.

This project aims to open up to other languages, by relying on new partners, add the two groups.
