The Algerian team quietly concluded its

qualifications for the African Cup of Nations

(CAN 2021) and prepared

those for the 2022 World Cup

which will begin in two months.

The Algerians indeed swept Botswana 5-0 on March 29 in Blida, four days after a draw in Zambia (3-3).

The African champions had already qualified for the "

CAN 2021

since November 2020 and a 2-2 draw in Zimbabwe.

The Fennecs especially took advantage of this last day in Group H of the playoffs to heal their record.

With 14 points taken, they are certainly not doing as well as the Tunisians, who took 16 in Group J. On the other hand, thanks to the achievements of Mehdi Zeffane, Sofiane Feghouli, Riyad Mahrez, Baghdad Bounedjah and Farid Boulaya against the Botswanans , the Algerians have scored 19 times during this campaign.

A total that will be difficult to match for the teams still in the race on March 30.

Note that in the other meeting of Group H, Zambia, eliminated, ended its campaign on a more positive note by winning 2-0 among Zimbabweans already qualified.
