62 years ago, the first molten iron in Inner Mongolia flowed out of Baotou's No. 1 blast furnace. Premier Zhou Enlai personally cut the ribbon for the production of Baotou No. 1 blast furnace, ending Inner Mongolia’s history of not producing inch iron and creating the industrial development of minority areas in China. The first of its kind, has also allowed the historical story of “jointly building Baotou Steel” to continue to this day.

Baosteel (Group) Company believes that the No. 1 blast furnace is of great significance for Baosteel to inherit the red gene, build a red education base and red brand, and integrate red corporate culture into party history learning and education.

The Department of Culture and Tourism of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region requires cultural relics authorities at all levels to improve the level of protection and utilization of revolutionary cultural relics and give play to the important role of revolutionary cultural relics in promoting the revolutionary spirit and inheriting the red gene.
