Peter Farrelly is set to return to service with a film dubbed

The Greatest Beer Run Ever

starring Russell Crowe, Zac Efron and possibly even Bill Murray.

The director has been working on this project since the success of

Green Book,

which in 2019 earned him the Oscar for Best Film.

It is also the end of a period of forced discretion for the director who had to apologize for a misplaced "game" he used to shoot: he was showing his penis to the teams.

The Greatest Beer Run Ever

should therefore reconcile it with cinema.

It is an adaptation of the eponymous bestseller written for four hands by John “Chick” Donahue and JT Molloy.

According to Deadline, the footage will be produced by Skydance for Apple Studios and Peter Farrelly co-wrote the screenplay with Brian Currie and Pete Jones.

A heroic gesture

The story of

Beer Run

follows the wanderings of John Donohue, played by Zac Efron, who in 1967 left New York to bring beers to three childhood friends enlisted in the military and sent to the Vietnam War.

This absurd and heroic project took him through the jungle with his cargo, wearing Hawaiian shorts and shirts.

Outfit that actually facilitated his journey since he was mistaken for a CIA agent.

In the end, John Donohue arrived at his destination just in time for the start of the Tet Offensive, which had taken the American forces by surprise from January 30, 1968. Filming of the film by Peter Farrelly should start next August in New Brunswick. Zealand and Australia.
