With the Sahel in the far north, the savannah in the center, the forest in the south, and a seafront in the west, Cameroon has many ecosystems favorable to agriculture and livestock.

However, to take advantage of these assets, the Cameroonian university must focus on the training of young entrepreneurs in the field of agro-food.

Publicity

Cameroon's agriculture is the main source of growth and foreign exchange for the country.

In 2004, agriculture represented 44% of the GDP.

Agricultural activity is the main occupation for 56% of the working population in Cameroon in 2003. However, there are natural and technical obstacles.

Then the unemployment of young graduates.

This unemployment is masked by underemployment which affects more than 76% of the employed.

90% of jobs are essentially precarious.

Result: 70% of young people underemployed.

And this is where the Faculty of Agronomy and Agricultural Sciences (FASA) comes in, which is a large institution in the scientific and professional field.

Courses in plant production, animal production, forest management, rural mechanization and engineering, rural economics and sociology are provided there.

The school is reputed to be the first university establishment in Cameroon.
