In Chiba Prefecture, where the state of emergency has been lifted, monitoring tests have begun on asymptomatic people to catch signs that the new coronavirus infection will spread again.

Following the lifting of the state of emergency on the 21st of this month, Chiba Prefecture and the national government have decided to conduct a wide range of PCR tests on asymptomatic people in order to catch signs that the infection will spread again.

From the 26th, we started free distribution of kits that can be used for PCR tests at home in various parts of the prefecture. At public facilities, the staff in charge handed the kits to the visitors after asking them if they had any physical problems. He explained the procedure and how to mail it to the inspection agency.

When saliva is collected and mailed, the result will be notified through a dedicated app, and depending on the prefecture, if it is positive, you will be asked to see a medical institution.

Test data will also be aggregated, analyzed and used to identify signs of re-infection.

A 75-year-old woman who received the kit said, "I'm gradually resuming club activities, and some people have underlying illnesses, so I'm grateful to know if I'm infected for free." A 66-year-old man said, "It will only be a relief, but I think it is a good administrative initiative, so I would like to cooperate."
