The Netflix streaming platform is preparing, according to information from the "Parisian", a documentary mini-series in five episodes on Johnny Hallyday.

Made from archive images and testimonies from relatives of the famous rocker, this documentary of 3:20 in total should be released at the end of the year 2021.

The Netflix streaming platform has started filming a documentary mini-series on Johnny Hallyday, as revealed by 

Le Parisien

.

The project will be called 

Johnny by Johnny

and will be broken down into five episodes of around forty minutes.

That is to say a total of about 3h20 of archive images from the National Audiovisual Institute (Ina), Universal (his record company from 1961 to 2005), but also testimonials from a dozen relatives of the rocker who died on December 5, 2017.

A production used to biopics

The team behind this project is used to portraits of stars.

Producer Eric Hannezo and his company Black Dynamite, who sign 

Johnny by Johnny,

have already produced portraits of Nicolas Anelka, Karim Benzema, Teddy Riner, Tony Parker and Gims.

The documentary mini-series will be directed by Frédéric Benudis and Charlotte Altschul.

Filming is underway and many relatives of Johnny Hallyday have already been interviewed.

Among them, his godmother Line Renaud, the photographer of the stars of the music of the 1960s Jean-Marie Périer, his guitarist and last musical director Yarol Poupaud and his friend Philippe Labro.

It is not known if Laeticia Hallyday will be present. 

Johnny by Johnny

will be released on Netflix at the end of 2021.
