  Aishanjiang Aihemaiti introduced that Xinjiang will over-complete the transportation fixed assets investment of 60 billion yuan this year and implement 67 transportation infrastructure construction projects, including 56 continued projects and 11 new projects.

This year, Xinjiang will achieve a total expressway mileage of more than 6000 kilometers, and the number of counties and cities with high-speed (level 1) highways will increase by 9 to reach 89.

  On the same day, the eighth contract section of the first phase of the S21 Xinjiang Altay-Urumqi Expressway Project was under busy construction.

Fan Xiangming, deputy secretary and director of the Altay Regional Transportation Bureau, told reporters that after the completion of the project, it will open up a convenient passage between Altay and Urumqi, which will help improve regional transportation conditions and promote the development of tourism.

  It is reported that Xinjiang will build 25 projects including G7 Wutong Daquan to Mulei, G3018 Jinghe to Alashankou, and G216 Beitun to Fuyun Expressway this year; accelerate the construction of 31 projects including G0711 Urumqi to Yuli, and start construction of G218 Nala. Nine projects including Balentai were mentioned; as well as the newly rebuilt 5,700 kilometers of rural roads and the promotion of the construction of passenger and freight station projects.

  According to the plan, Xinjiang will improve the high-speed (first-class) highway around the Junggar Basin in the north and the high-speed highway (first-class) around the Tarim Basin in the south this year to help realize the goal of “inner Xinjiang is looped and the in and out of Xinjiang become faster”.
