“It's time for me to say goodbye.

Chrissy Teigen, model and American TV presenter, announced Wednesday the deletion of her Twitter account with 13 million subscribers before deactivating it.

“It no longer serves me positively but it serves me negatively,” wrote singer John Legend's wife.

"My desire to be loved and my fear of breaking the bank on people has made me a person who is not who you wanted to follow and a different human being than I was when I started!"

Live well, twittos, ”she added before bowing out and, perhaps, going to her Instagram account, followed by 34 million people and which, for his part, remains online.

A Twitter break in 2014

This week, Chrissy Teigen's launch of a line of herbal cleaning products in partnership with Kris Jenner had garnered her backlash, with some accusing her of "selling out" amid the economic woes of the pandemic, others questioning its ecological commitment.

Chrissy Teigen had already taken a Twitter hiatus in 2014 after an influx of criticism for one of her posts lamenting the level of armed violence in the country, with some even wishing her dead.

In February, Twitter announced that it did not intend to end the comments coming from anonymous accounts, despite requests from several English football executives after protests from players suffering from racism.
