CAN 2021: Burkina Faso back in the final phase

Burkina Faso qualified on Wednesday March 24 by drawing their trip to Uganda (0-0).

During the 5th day of the CAN 2021 qualifiers, Burkina validated its ticket joined Cameroon, Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia and Mali among the qualified for the final phase by bringing back a point of its trip to Uganda (0-0).

The Stallions are now certain to finish in the top two of their group.

The Stallions are therefore making their return to the continental scene when they had been absent from the 2019 edition in Egypt.

In 2013, the Burkinabè were beaten by the Nigerian Super Eagles in Johannesburg in the final.

The Burkinabè tried to snatch their first title but failed (1-0).

In 2015, eagerly awaited, Charles Kaboré's teammates were eliminated from the group stage, conceding two defeats against Gabon and Congo and a draw against Equatorial Guinea, host of the competition.

In 2017, in Gabon, the heels, during the small final, seize the third place of the competition by beating Ghana 1 to 0 thanks to a goal by Alain Traoré.

Jonathan Pitroipa, who has announced that he is ending his international career after having been a manager of the Stallions for more than a decade, will not be traveling to Cameroon for the big comeback in the final phase.
