Most of the vaccination centers in Lyon do not have a window for a month.

In order to speed up the vaccination campaign, the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region proposed this Wednesday to open new places by making its high schools available, during the Easter school holidays.

However, it is up to them to take the necessary steps to welcome the public.

"They can, according to the recommendations of the health authorities, serve as a vaccination center throughout the region," explains the region in a press release specifying that the Alpexpo site in Grenoble, the Grande Halle d'Auvergne and the Parc Expo de Saint-Etienne may be used for the same purposes.

As are the hotels in the regions of Lyon and Clermont-Ferrand.

Itinerant buses in rural areas for the most distant inhabitants

In order not to “forget the rural environment”, the region also suggests making “itinerant buses” available, which could take residents to vaccination centers.

From next Monday, 203,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech will be allocated in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region each week, against 85,000 today.

All people over 70, considered a priority, can now be vaccinated.
