Derek Chauvin's trial opened in Minneapolis with jury selection.

The ex-policeman will appear, from March 29 until the end of April 2021, for the murder of African-American George Floyd.

The video of his death, George Floyd suffocating under the knee of this white cop, had sparked weeks of protests across the United States.

In Minneapolis, at the end of May 2020, the demonstrators had even burned down and destroyed a police station in the city.
