The elementary school in Namie Town, Fukushima Prefecture, which had been teaching at the temporary school building in the evacuation site after the nuclear accident, will be closed next year due to the absence of children, and the final graduation ceremony was held at this school building on the 23rd. ..

Six elementary schools in Namie Town rented an unused school building in Nihonmatsu City, where they were evacuated after the accident at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station, but after that, the number of children increased. The number has decreased, and this year, Yoshito Sudo, a sixth grader, was living alone in school.

The school will be closed next year due to the lack of children, and the final graduation ceremony was held at the temporary school building on the 23rd.

At the ceremony, Principal Hiroyuki Kimura handed Sudo a diploma, saying, "If this school building disappears, everyone including the faculty and staff will be separated, but I will continue to support Kato. I learned here even when I went to junior high school. Please do your best toward your goal with that in mind. "

In the words of the graduates, Sudo said, "I had only one school life, but I was watched by the teachers and local people, and I didn't feel lonely. I will do my best in junior high school to become a programmer. "

Some of Sudo's family and residents of Namie Town who participated in the graduation ceremony shed tears as they grew up.

After the ceremony, Mr. Sudo said, "I am full of gratitude to the teachers and family who have watched over me for 6 years. When I enter junior high school, I want to enjoy school life and club activities with a large number of people."
