For intensive care units, overheating lasts in the Paca region.

So much so that the Regional Health Agency (ARS) announced on Tuesday the activation of the fifth level of the crisis which “involves postponing all activities that do not lead to a loss of opportunity for patients”.

With the objective of further increasing the capacity to treat severe cases of Covid-19.

While "viral circulation is maintained at a very high level" according to the organization, "the tension on critical care is increasing in our region".

The goal of this maneuver, already initiated in November 2020, is to go from 777 intensive care beds (89.6% occupied on Monday) to 820 and to "redeploy nursing staff to strengthen critical care units", further specifies the 'ARS.

Guaranteed abortions and chronic disease monitoring

The organization stresses that beyond “access to recourse care [samples and transplants, oncology, urgent targeted surgery], the continuation of the activity of abortion is also guaranteed as the close follow-up of the chronically ill.

"

On Monday, 510 Covid-19 patients still occupied resuscitation beds in the region, despite several dozen medical evacuations in recent weeks.

The hospital services of the departments of Vaucluse (95.2%), Alpes-de-Haute-Provence (93.8%) and Bouches-du Rhône (92.1%) are the most saturated.
