A 24-year-old man was arrested by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department on suspicion of robbery for assaulting a woman he met with a matching app and strangling him, as well as robbing his credit card.

In response to the investigation, he denied the charges that he had just borrowed the card, but stated that he had spent about 100 million yen on the cards of more than 100 women so far.

The person arrested was Daiki Yamada (24), who has an unspecified address and is unemployed.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, in 2018, three years ago, a 21-year-old woman who met on a matching app was assaulted by threatening to "make a card. I'll kill you" and strangling or pulling her hair. There are suspicions of robbery for contracting and robbing a consumer credit card.

It was confirmed that the woman's card had made a purchase of at least 400,000 yen, which means that the woman was in debt.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, Yamada denied the charges, saying, "The card was not stolen by violence, it was just borrowed."

On the other hand, the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the detailed circumstances by stating that "I spent about 100 million yen on the cards of more than 100 women I met with the matching app so far."
