In Upper Franconia, a 50-year-old man is said to have killed his nine-year-old son.
An arrest warrant was issued against the suspect on Monday for urgent suspicion of murder, as announced by the Upper Franconian Police Headquarters and the Bamberg Public Prosecutor's Office.
The boy was found dead on Sunday evening in Kleinsendelbach near Forchheim.
The separated wife wanted to pick up the boy after he had spent the weekend with his father.
When the man opened the door with a kitchen knife in hand, the mother feared for her son and called the police.
Officials found the lifeless boy.
A forensic examination revealed that the child died as a result of violence.
