How much does it cost?

19.99 euros

Is that a real innovation?

Yes.

Until now, you had to choose between dry and damp toilet paper in the supermarket or drugstore.

With Bideo you have both at once: you clamp a roll of toilet paper in the holder, fill the tank with water and receive either dry toilet paper when you pull the roll upwards, or damp one when you pull it downwards.

Sounds complicated?

This video shows how it works:

Do you need that?

Moist toilet paper cleans better than dry one - many people and especially parents of small children who are not yet able to wipe their buttocks well appreciate this.

What some don't even have on the plan: Moist toilet paper usually consists of tear-resistant fleece that is difficult to dissolve in water (even if the manufacturers claim otherwise).

If you flush it down in the toilet, individual towels can become knotted and form huge tangles of hair and other rubbish on their way to the sewage treatment plant, which in the worst case can lead to blockages.

Clearing such blockages costs money, which is ultimately paid for by consumers through sewage charges.

Basically, you would have to throw damp toilet paper into the trash can after use, but many find that disgusting.

This is exactly where Bideo comes in with his idea of simply moistening dry toilet paper with water, because that way you can flush it down the toilet without hesitation.

Our test result:

First impression: Bideo is not more beautiful, but also not uglier than other toilet paper holders.

The tank above the roller is designed so restrained that it is hardly noticeable in the bathroom.

Bideo can either be screwed to the wall (everything you need is included in the package) or glued on (glue or adhesive strips have to be bought separately).

Then you fill the tank with 200 milliliters of water.

The Bideo product doesn't have much to do with moist toilet paper from the pack, if only because the material is of course different.

In addition, Bideo only wets the paper selectively, otherwise it would tear.

But we quickly got used to the new feeling of wiping.

The only thing that sometimes gets on your nerves is switching between damp and dry paper - because it doesn't always work reliably.

We held moistened toilet paper in our hands a few times even after we had pulled it upwards.

However, Bideo can be a sensible purchase for households in which there are both friends of dry and moist toilet paper.

After all, from now on you only have to think of one kind of toilet paper when shopping, which saves a bit of packaging waste and helps to keep Germany's pipes free.
