Xuwen County is located at the southernmost tip of mainland China, southwest of Guangdong Province, bordering the South China Sea to the east, Beibu Gulf to the west, and across the Qiongzhou Strait to the south across the sea. It is the "throat" of the mainland to Hainan Island.
Xuwen has grown pineapples for nearly a hundred years and is the largest pineapple producing area in the country.
There are 350,000 mu of pineapple planted here. In recent years, the pineapple industry has gradually become one of the leading and pillar industries in Xuwen County, with more than 200,000 employees.
