It is an "extraordinary" criminal case that the gendarmes clarified on Saturday.

A few hours after the discovery of the lifeless body of Magali Blandin in Boisgervilly (Ille-et-Vilaine), the public prosecutor of Rennes unveiled the first elements of this criminal investigation.

During his police custody that began on Thursday, Magali Blandin's husband admitted to having killed his wife, from whom he had been separated since September and with whom he was in the process of divorce.

“Jérôme Gaillard said he waited for Magali Blandin on the stairs of his apartment and hit her with a baseball bat twice,” Philippe Astruc told a press conference.

The 42-year-old mother of four had been missing since February 11 when her phone stopped transmitting.

The respondent explained that he went to Montfort-sur-Meu after dropping the children off at school and waited for the victim to leave his accommodation to hit her.

He would then have returned the body to the apartment, before returning the next day to erase the traces.

The lifeless body of Magali Blandin was discovered "on the indications of the accused" in a wooded area of Boisgervilly, less than two kilometers from the husband's home.
