The year before last I took my daughter on a trip to Qinghai, and when they had a bonfire, they all sang "My Motherland" and "Nanniwan". I sang with them, but my daughter sat next to me and asked me , Why do you sing?

Why haven't we heard of it?

Why don't we understand these songs?

At that moment, I felt that the young people of our current generation really have a big gap with us in the Mainland. The gap is cultural.

[Commentary] Talking about youth education in Hong Kong and the Mainland, Hong Kong columnist and critic Qu Yingyan cited an example that happened around me.

In her view, "cultural estrangement" is the biggest obstacle to communication between young people and even the people of the two places.

When she was a child, she studied at the Xiangdao Middle School and the attached elementary school of the Patriotic School. Her experience of receiving national education from a young age made Qu Yingyan, who grew up in Hong Kong, no sense of alienation from the mainland.

In class, it is not necessarily history class, such as Chinese class, math class, music class, they will also teach you the concept of the country.

For example, in mathematics class, their teacher will tell us which of our Chinese mathematicians is very famous.

In music class, we can sing "Nanniwan", "My Motherland" and "Internationale", so I can sing, I feel that I have no sense of isolation from the mainland.

So every time there is a holiday or school activity, I take all the students to watch "Heroes Children" and "Take the Tiger Mountain Out of Wisdom".

Look slowly, it looks pretty.

So I think we should also create an atmosphere, or create some opportunities for these students to see.

[Explanation] Qu Yingyan suggested that we should start from the three dimensions of family education, school education, and media education to reshape the cultural identity of Hong Kong people to the country and the identity of the "Chinese".

She believes that the first step in generating cultural identity is to contact and understand the culture of the country, but as far as the current situation is concerned, Hong Kong has not done enough to build and expand cultural sharing platforms.

Movies in the Mainland are also very popular now, many movies are very popular, but it is basically difficult to see in Hong Kong.

Recently, "Hello, Li Huanying" is very famous, but you have not found a movie theater in Hong Kong where you can see this movie.

I think our culture is not in sync with the mainland.

A few years ago, when the mainland talked about "I am not the God of Medicine", it was very popular all over China, and there was absolutely no way to see it here (Hong Kong).

What do i say?

I can't tell you anything.

So I feel that culturally, we already have a (estrangement), as if we are isolated.

So I think we should open up this road first, because in fact, the culture of film and television is actually the easiest to enter the family and the hearts of the people.

[Explanation] In addition to cultural mutual learning, Qu Yingyan believes that historical education for Hong Kong people should also be strengthened.

She pointed out that Hong Kong itself is a good history teaching material.

In Central, Hong Kong, many streets are named after the Governor. Although many historical sites are still preserved, few people know the historical stories behind them.

In the past, for example, Hong Kong had the Dongjiang Column. Anti-Japanese people, not to mention children, adults don't know. Many Hong Kong people don't know this history of resistance to Japan. I think we should keep that aspect of history.

There are also those who still have some living historical figures. If their generation is gone, then it will be even more difficult for us to grasp that period of history.

In fact, we can also do the government's environmental education. Every street has some explanations, or it turns into a historical tourist (scenic spot). Take the children to see it and explain it after reading it. I think they will remember to compare it. Be more profound.

[Explanation] In response to the previous remarks made by the National People's Congress that improving Hong Kong's electoral system is a "democratic regression", Qu Yingyan retorted that the best system is to allow the people to live and work in peace.

The decision of the National People's Congress this time will ensure long-term stability in Hong Kong society and bring happiness and security to Hong Kong people.
