HBO, which released the popular TV series Game of Thrones, has begun developing three more projects in the universe, invented by writer George Martin.

This is reported by Deadline and THR.

According to media reports, all tapes are prequels to the main series.

At the moment, their working names are known: 9 Voyages or Sea Snake ("Nine Voyages" or "Sea Snake"), 10,000 Ships ("10,000 ships") and Flea Bottom ("Flea's End").

Deadline clarifies that filmmakers have advanced the furthest in the development of the first of the three projects listed.

It is reported that a creative team has already been formed, which is engaged in writing the script.

Among the authors of Nine Voyages is Bruno Heller, best known for such TV shows as Rome, Gotham, Pennyworth and The Mentalist.

Also, according to the publication, George Martin himself will take part in the work on the tape.

In the center of the plot of "Nine Voyages" - the adventures of the Lord of the Tides Corlis Velarion, also known as the Sea Serpent.

This character will appear in the series "House of the Dragon" - it is already known that his role will be played by Steve Toussaint.

The project "10,000 ships" will focus on the journey of the warrior queen Nymeria, which took place almost a thousand years before the events of "Game of Thrones".

The main character is one of the ancestors of the Martell family, the rulers of Dorn.

Together with the survivors of the Valyrian war, she fled her homeland with the Roynar and settled in Dorn after a long journey, marrying the local lord Morse Martell.

What events the filmmakers will tell in the film "Flea's End" is not yet clear.

From the name it follows that the action will unfold in the slums of the capital of the Seven Kingdoms, King's Landing.

Game of Thrones minor characters Davos Seaworth and Gendry Baratheon were born here.

According to Deadline, Nine Voyages will be released as a TV series.

The format of other projects has not yet been announced.

Earlier, HBO chief content manager Casey Bloys noted that the abundance of information provided by George Martin is conducive to the filming of the prequels.

“We are also discussing other promising areas.

The world invented by George Martin is big.

What is interesting here is that there is not only a large-scale world, but also many planned paths in terms of the development of history.

One of the great strengths of House of the Dragon is the history that has taken shape, which brings the viewer to Game of Thrones.

In addition, there are many offshoots - tons of possibilities and stories to tell, ”Blois told Deadline.

Game of Thrones aired on television and internet platforms from 2011 to 2019.

The show won 59 Primetime Emmy Awards in various categories, four times for Best Drama Series.

Even before the completion of the flagship project in the George Martin universe, news began to appear about the development of prequels.

So, in the summer of 2018, it became known about the preparations for the filming of the series "Long Night".

The creators of the picture were going to delve into the history of Westeros several thousand years before the events of "Game of Thrones".

The filmmakers filmed a pilot episode with Georgie Henley, Naomi Watts, Toby Regbo, Jamie Campbell Bauer and other artists.

However, in the fall of 2019, HBO's management canceled further work.

According to Naomi Watts, the tape would be great entertainment for fans of the franchise.

In an interview with news.com.au, the actress admitted that she was upset by the cancellation of the project.

Currently, work is underway on the series "House of the Dragon".

Its plot is based on the book "Fire and Blood".

The story is centered around the story of House Targaryen.

The role of King Viserys will be played by Paddy Considine (Macbeth, The Bourne Ultimatum).

There will be ten episodes in the tape.

The premiere is scheduled for 2022.

The series of books "The Tale of Dunk and Egg", a prequel that tells about the life and deeds of Prince Aegon Targaryen and the Knight Duncan the High, is also being adapted for the screens.

In January 2021, the media reported that an animated series based on Game of Thrones was being developed for the HBO Max service.

It is expected to have a lot in common with the original project.

The tape is intended for an adult audience.

Meanwhile, fans of the book and television universe are waiting for the new novel by George Martin, The Winds of Winter.

From it it will be possible to learn the author's view of the story, which appeared in the series in the processing of David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

The book will be the penultimate one in the series.

The whole cycle will end with the seventh part of Dreams of Spring.
