A comeback of the documentary

Documentary, less classic than it has been for a long time, is a genre that is increasingly appreciated.

In any case, this is the analysis made by Richard Maroko, deputy general manager of Mediawan Thematics, at the origin of this project.

"We realized that, as soon as we go into different, faster and more modern forms of storytelling, it appeals to the public enormously," he explains.

"We have seen the success of certain documentary series on certain platforms. We are rediscovering in this favor documentaries which would perhaps not have had the place they deserved a few years ago," he adds.

Among the documentaries to be found on Explore, there is also a film on the artist Banksy, another on Air Jordan sneakers, or one on Pablo Escobar's hippos.

Explore, available on Apple TV, is a pay channel, but accessible.

The subscription costs 3.99 euros per month.
