According to Orvesto's consumer annual survey, more and more Swedes are choosing to pay for digital editorial content.

And for metropolitan newspapers Dagens Nyheter, Svenska Dagbladet, Göteborgs-Posten and Sydsvenskan, it has been a particularly favorable year.

DN increases the reach in print by 4.6 percent to 540,000 readers and the sister group Sydsvenskan increases by 5.3 percent to 160,000 readers.

GP increases by 12.4 percent to 244,000 readers, while SvD increased by as much as 14.9 percent to 347,000 readers.

Biggest increase digitally

The digital reach also increased for all newspapers.

GP did best, reaching 319,000 readers per day - an increase of 38.7 percent compared with the previous year.

For the evening press, the figures have not been as positive.

Between Aftonbladet, Expressen, including GT and Kvällspressen, there is only a difference of 12,000 readers in print.

The survey was conducted by Kantar-Sifo January 1 - December 31, 2020 and a total of 40,942 people participated in the survey.

The digital measurement is based on a passive real-time measurement of 20,000 individuals' surfing behavior on mobile, apps and destop.
