It was discovered that an assistant male police officer of the Kyoto Prefectural Police had sent a photo of the body of the victim of the murder to a woman he knew.

Police are investigating assistant police officers on suspicion of violating the Local Civil Service Law.

What was leaked to the outside was a photo of the body of a 24-year-old woman who was killed in a municipal house in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City last October.

According to the police, an assistant male police officer belonging to the criminal section of the Shimogyo police station, where the murder investigation headquarters was located, sent a photo to a general woman he knew on his smartphone.

The fact that the assistant police officer and the woman were in trouble and the leak was discovered while consulting with the police means that so far no leaks of photographs or other investigation materials have been confirmed to anyone other than women.

The assistant inspector was not directly involved in the investigation of the case, and after accepting the investigation, he said, "I got it from another investigator."

Police are reporting the circumstances to the bereaved family and are investigating an assistant male police officer on suspicion of violating the Local Civil Service Law.

Atsushi Himeno, Chief Inspector General of the Kyoto Prefectural Police Headquarters, commented, "We will wait for the results of the investigation and take strict measures."
