In the US version of "The Masked Singer", Kermit the frog has just been unmasked.

A huge coup, but there were also some surprises in the German semi-finals.

Six questions about the show - and the answers.

Can that go away?

Week after week, “The Masked Singer” starts the same way: with a countdown.

After this, however, the show does not start, but always a commercial for frozen pizza.

It's okay, ProSieben, you have to earn money with your program - but can it be more charming?

Are there any new clues?

No, do not worry, we are not even trying to evaluate the crazy clues - quote from Rea Garvey: "The clues are wrecking me".

But one thing could not be overlooked in the semi-finals: the leopard's height.

For the first four shows, the leopard was pushed onto the stage and mostly sat during its performances.

This time he ran himself and towered over his background dancers by at least two heads.

That speaks very well for Germany's greatest singer, the 1.87 meter tall Cassandra Steen.

It is also becoming increasingly clear who is in the dinosaur.

It just had to be his "best friend" Sasha, Garvey explained.

He recognized this in passages that are difficult to sing, in which even professional singers can no longer disguise their voices well.

Even if male friendships are

decried

as superficial - at least the voice of their

best buddys

should be reliably recognized by men.

There are no new references to the turtle.

But it doesn't even need that anymore - you can hear Thomas Anders so clearly.

Is the jury guessing wrong on purpose?

Some of the theories of Ruth Moschner and the others are just absurd.

Example Flamingo: Almost the entire Internet taps on Ross Anthony.

But that, says Moschner, could not be: You met Anthony on the plane and ProSieben would probably never risk a chance meeting of rate team member and mask wearer.

Yes, “The Masked Singer” is known for hiding the identity of the participants well - but the secrecy should hardly go that far.

Other suggestions also seem rather uptightly imaginative: Roland Kaiser as a turtle, Bela B. as a bull or Rolando Villazón as a dinosaur?

Very, very unlikely.

Sometimes you get the impression that Moschner and Garvey have received a clear message from the broadcaster: Make sure that the show stays exciting!

Don't say who it could

actually

be - rather throw names cheerfully into the room, no matter how absurd they may be!

You can do that, it should stay funny and surprising, but if that happens with every mask, the audience feels ridiculed at some point.

After all, Katrin Bauerfeind, the rate guest in the semifinals, did not participate.

She mostly gave tips that have been in the (Twitter) discussion for a long time: Guildo Horn as a bull, Thore Schölermann as a monstronaut, Ross Anthony as a flamingo.

What was wrong with the tech?

There were two mishaps on the show: first, the monstronaut's voice changer failed, then the leopard's microphone did not work properly.

“The Masked Singer” is just a live show, including minor technical failures.

Which tweet about the show was the funniest?

And who was unmasked?

For the first time, two masks were removed in a "The Masked Singer" semifinals.

The bull turned out to be Guildo Horn, the monstronaut as Thore Schölermann.

The latter was particularly noticeable in his role as a pink monster and astronaut mixture because he disregarded all the rules of the show.

In almost every show he ran off the stage and ran to the jury table, sometimes knocking over the backdrops.

That suited his role as a “cheeky teenager”, which moderator Matthias Opdenhövel repeatedly conjured up, but over time it also became expectable and a bit annoying.

But whoever thought Thore Schölermann had to be an exhausting contemporary, was taught better when he was unmasked: Totally sweaty, the moderator said that he was almost ashamed to have just left - “with the good voices” of the competition.

The monstronaut has never been so personable.
