Beware the "night owl" by knowing its causes

Healthline has published detailed information about the night owl syndrome, noting in a report that it causes disturbances in the internal body clock, which leads to a delay of at least two hours of sleep hours, and it affects adolescents and young adults significantly, and about 15% of them suffer from the syndrome.

The report emphasized that this syndrome makes the person alert, especially after midnight, specifically between two o'clock in the morning and six o'clock in the morning, while you feel excessive sleepiness during the day and when you cannot sleep, you become distracted and weak in attention, which makes you feel excessively tired throughout the day.

The night owl syndrome has many other complications related to other sleep problems such as sleep apnea, depression or tension during the exercise of your daily tasks, and it also affects the learning abilities of students because they do not get enough sleep.

The report explained that there are some factors that result in developing delayed sleep syndrome, including:



- Genetic factors:


 If you have this syndrome, you may have a family history of this disorder in the sleep cycle over a 24-hour period.

Affliction with mental and nervous disorders:


 such as anxiety, attention deficit, hyperactivity, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

- Chronic insomnia:


may be a factor in injury, as 10% of people with chronic insomnia suffer from night owl syndrome.

Poor sleep habits:


 Symptoms of the syndrome can get worse if you do not get enough exposure to light in the morning, and symptoms may also increase if you are exposed to a lot of light at night.
