If Ile-de-France and Hauts-de-France must be affected by new anti-Covid-19 restrictions, in Paca, where Nice and the Alpes-Maritimes coast have been confined for the last three weekends, no new measure would be considered for the moment, said the government spokesman on Wednesday.

"At this stage, there are no additional measures other than those that we have already implemented in recent weeks in certain territories of the region, and in particular in the Alpes-Maritimes", explained Gabriel Attal, without however specify whether the partial confinement in force in 63 municipalities was extended or not.

Very critical situation in intensive care units

This decision should be announced Thursday evening, during a press conference by Prime Minister Jean Castex, expected Friday in the department.

The situation is critical in French Riviera hospitals.

According to the latest data from the Regional Health Agency (ARS), resuscitations have again reached a record level.

With eight more people on Wednesday, a total of 130 patients are currently being cared for in these services.

The initial capacity is very much exceeded (149.9%) and 88.8% of the beds (including those specially freed) are occupied while numerous medical evacuations have already been organized in recent weeks.
