Since there were a number of voices saying that the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare could not use the system to support parents who had to take a break from work due to school closure due to the influence of the new coronavirus, we reviewed the system so that the person can apply. I did.

In order to support parents who had to take time off from work due to school closures due to the effects of the new coronavirus, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has paid paid leave in addition to the annual paid leave under the Labor Standards Act. We have established a system to subsidize the cost of the companies that have acquired the certification.

As of the 5th of this month, 141,135 cases have been decided to be paid, amounting to 47.5 billion yen.

However, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare reviewed the system so that parents can apply if the company does not apply even if the Labor Bureau works, because there were a series of voices saying that it cannot be used because the company at work does not apply. I did.

Specifically, for the period from February to March last year, if you can confirm with the company that you actually took a day off from work based on the application from the guardian, you will be paid up to 8330 yen per day. I will.

In addition, from April last year, we will utilize the "leave of absence support fund" system and provide direct payments up to 11,000 yen per day.

Regarding this subsidy system, consultation counters have been set up at labor bureaus nationwide, and of the 400 consultations received by February, the labor bureau urged companies to apply for 154 of them. Only about half actually applied.

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare wants to continue to call on companies to apply and to make efforts to inform parents and others about the system.
