Sinus vein thrombosis occurs around once per 100,000 inhabitants and year, which means the annual incidence is around one in 100,000.

Wasn't it previously thought that sinus vein thromboses were much less common?

Berlit:

The diagnosis of sinus vein thrombosis has improved significantly over the past 20 years.

The majority of these thromboses can now be reliably diagnosed using CT angiography or MRT angiography.

In the past, only conventional angiography was possible.
