Like any phishing scam, criminals email potential victims.

In it, it is explained that Public Health France invites them to withdraw their containment kit.

A link then returns to a web page detailing the contents of the kit: 100 FFP2 masks, ten bottles of hydroalcoholic gel, 200 medical gloves and 50 antibacterial sprays would be promised.

Always check email addresses

On this page showing the codes of the Public Health France site, it is then explained that recovering this kit involves filling out a form by entering certain personal data before paying the sum of 1.99 euros.

But during the payment, the bank details of the victims are recovered by the hackers, who can then use it to make purchases or any other type of banking transaction.

To avoid this type of scam, specialists advise systematically checking email addresses and the names of websites.

Government platforms always end with the words “.

gouv.fr.

".
