The pressure is increasing a little more every day.
The number of Covid patients in intensive care increased further on Sunday, while hospital pressure remains at a high level, according to figures from Public Health France, which show more than 25,000 new contaminations.
While the threshold of 4,000 Covid patients in intensive care or intensive care was crossed Friday for the first time since the end of November, this number increased again slightly in 24 hours, to 4,127 on Saturday, including 188 new admissions.
Concerns in Ile-de-France
More than a quarter of these patients in shifts (1,134) are in Ile-de-France, where the particularly worrying situation is pushing the health authorities to organize transfers of patients to other regions.
With 821 new hospitalizations in 24 hours across the country, there are now 24,989 Covid patients in hospitals in France, a slight increase compared to the previous day.
140 new deaths were recorded at the hospital in 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 90,455 people who have died from Covid-19 since the start of the epidemic in hospitals and nursing homes, including 65,118 in hospitals.
The 90,000 mark was exceeded on Friday.
New cases on the rise over a week
The number of new cases of contamination rose to 26,343, against 29,759 the day before and 21,825 a week ago.
The positivity rate (number of people positive for Covid-19 out of all those tested) remains at 7.4%.
On the vaccination side, 5,072,244 people have received "at least one dose of vaccine", as of Saturday the figures being given 24 hours late.
