Two conversational social networks are currently gaining the attention of journalists and the media: Twitch and Clubhouse.
Publicity
Monday March 8, the former French president François Hollande was the guest of Samuel Étienne.
Journalist at France Info and host of Question pour un champion, the latter landed at the end of December 2020 on
Twitch
.
This ten-year-old live video platform has long been popular with video game enthusiasts, but the media is starting to take hold of it.
Vincent Carlino
, post-doctoral researcher at the Academy of Journalism and Media in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, explains what the media can find on the platform, and recalls the codes developed by the demanding communities there.
And then the
Clubhouse
mobile application
, only available on iPhone and by subscription, is making a lot of noise.
It is an audio-only conversational social network.
Marjorie Paillon
, who presents Tech24 every week on France 24, uses it daily.
She was therefore perfectly placed to discuss the subjects currently debated in the
Clubhouse
rooms
, the organization of exchanges within them, opportunities for the media, questions of moderation, privacy but also the future of the conversational audio web.
