Economic experts and representatives of financial and employer organizations must feel like those who preach in the desert.
Such is Moncloa's disdain for recommendations and analysis of the
complicated situation in our country
.
However, voices as authoritative as the governor of the Bank of Spain exercise their responsibility by warning that
"the recovery has slowed down in a very significant way"
and calling for structural reforms to prevent the problems of unemployment, d
e business destruction or the sustainability of pensions become more chronic.
In an interview with our newspaper, Pablo
Hernandez de Cos
could not be more blunt when he says:
"I am surprised by the lack of political consensus in a context as dramatic as the one we are experiencing"
.
And, without making comparisons between political systems, he emphasizes how "in Italy it has been known to agglutinate a consensus of the State on a sensible and ambitious economic program." What is being experienced in the transalpine country with the Executive of national concentration of
Mario draghi
it is precisely the reverse of what happens in Spain.
Here there is no political will and courage on the part of those who govern us today to face these essential structural reforms
.
Not even the entire political class is acting up to par.
And, despite the devastating consequences that it is causing a
tsunami
like the coronavirus pandemic, there has not been a shift in
Pedro Sanchez
and his own to find a way out of the crisis with the broad political consensus that De Cos demands and that would be in the general interest.
On the contrary, every week the real data causes alarms to go off, but
Moncloa continues to be mired in constant improvisation, lack of coordination and the lack of rigor that are characterizing the economic policy of this legislature.
"Political instability is negative for the recovery," also recalls the governor of the Bank of Spain.
Not only because this prevents taking the necessary measures at home; also because
we do not generate external trust
.
But, in case a government so weak at the mercy of all the separatist forces of Congress does not produce enough instability, on top
the PSOE is dedicated to trying to destabilize governance in the autonomous communities
.
Sánchez will continue as one who hears the rain;
but politically it cannot be free.
