British police have confirmed that the body that was found in the forests in southern England is that of the missing trace, Sarah Everard, who lives in London, and her disappearance has sparked a nationwide debate about the crimes committed against women.

Everard, 33, disappeared on March 3, after she started walking from her friend's house back to her home in south London.

The remains were discovered at Ashford in Kent, 78 km (78 miles) from where Everard was last seen.

Police arrested two suspects, one of whom was an officer in the London Metropolitan Police.

A large vigil to commemorate Everard is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, in London.
