Future day

March 13, 2021

The first of March coincides with Future International Day, which it was surprising that many parties did not pay attention to it and celebrate it.

As it coincides with the end of the UAE Innovation Month (February), it is a real opportunity to review future readiness, next generation technologies and services, enhanced with spatial data and predictive capabilities, and revolutionary and emerging technologies, Emerging & Revolutionary Technologies. We are the homeland of the future .. We are targeting the number (1) And this is what we all strive for.

Participation in global events is important, as it is accompanied by real initiatives and tangible developmental contributions, away from the traditional display of unreal capabilities, and temporary efforts to cultivate the illusion of excellence, and to review international and universal certificates of appreciation.

The transfer of knowledge, and the best local practices applied or monitored internationally, reflects an eagerness and a national model of responsibility, which must be the basis of institutional work, as well as questionnaires measuring customer satisfaction, and questionnaires measuring partner satisfaction.

It is not required to achieve almost complete numbers, percentages and degrees, for we all know that satisfying people is an unrealizable goal, but from the guidance of religion and Islamic civilized education, what is immortalized in the pages of books, the pillar of true distinction and the basis of continuous improvement processes: “May God have mercy on the one who gave me my faults.”

We find some people still resent the slightest criticism or suggestion that there are procedural or technical flaws or opportunities for improvement that require treatment so that our practices become one of the best global practices.

The development of the fourth generation model for institutional excellence, and the government agencies ’demand to integrate innovation into all standards, and allocate an integrated standard to display the entity’s readiness for the future, deserves a pause for reflection and analysis. The innovation allocations estimated at 1% are no longer expected to buy 3D printers, to be left in corridors. To show in front of visitors without using, nor to buy advanced technology, for nothing, except to keep pace with the fashion of advanced technologies, and because another party may precede us and buy it, so “horses with their imagination,” as the Arabs said, and the internal dealer is the pillar of success and sustainability of development.

We quote here the saying of the English nobleman, futurist and science fiction writer, Sir Arthur Charles Clarke, when he put his third law in the context of his book “Features of the Future Verification within the Limits of the Possibility”, that “any advanced technology cannot be separated from magic”, a message explaining the importance of analysis and scientific research And the study and analysis of the applied and the ongoing research of applied sciences to stay ahead of the scientific research.

The “builder of the Emirates”, the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, said: “When we talk about youth, and with youth, we must speak in the language they understand, so that the meanings reach their minds and conscience, and we must have a dialogue with them. In the spirit of the times, we do not impose an opinion or position on them without their conviction, nor do we imagine that this generation is an exact copy of previous generations, for each generation has its own characteristics, nature and thinking, so what was acceptable in the pre-oil generation is not suitable for the present generation. ”

Our inspiring leadership led the empowerment phase on the same approach, reaching Mars and space, operating nuclear reactors, and running very advanced military and aviation industries with first-world concepts, and many neighboring countries are still trying to probe the depths of the Emirati road map and understand its foundations. And the depth of her children's participation in the line of her success story.

This day, and every day of the year, is a "day for the future" that requires government agencies, and others, to understand their responsibility to contribute to preparing for the future, enabling citizens to prepare for it, and involving them in implementing its initiatives, and even planning for it. Those who warn about mistakes or opportunities for improvement, and seek to deal with them transparently, as it is a method for evading and shirking responsibility. It will not work for those who do it, and will only reach it until he is behind development, retreating, and “retreating” steps. Then its impact and negative results will be revealed. His approach, and change will be its inevitable result, to advance those who meet the aspirations of the leadership and the nation.

As for how to celebrate Future Day, that is something we decide, and it is by our imagination that we determine it.

As His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: "The future will be for those who can imagine, design and implement it ... the future does not wait ... the future can be designed and built today."

Let us celebrate the day of the future throughout the year, to live today what others dream of reaching after decades, and to keep our country No. (1) not only Arab, but also global, so our country deserves it, and our leadership spares no effort for it.
