In the last twenty-four hours, 27,166 new cases of Covid-19 contamination have been confirmed, a number in decline after having exceeded 30,000 on Wednesday, according to data published Thursday by Public Health France.

The test positivity rate remained stable at 7.3%.

On the other hand, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran specified during his weekly update on the epidemic that the number of patients in intensive care had exceeded the 4,000 mark, a first since the end of November.

In addition, 266 new deaths were recorded in hospitals according to Public Health France, bringing the total since the start of the epidemic to at least 89,856 deaths, including 64,612 in hospital.
