Julien Clerc presents Thursday in "Culture Médias" his new album "Terrien".

A record for which Marc Lavoine and Paul Ecole wrote the songs "Ma petite terre" and "Brexit" respectively.

Julien Clerc returns to these two texts, which recount moments in Julien Clerc's history far from the Metropolis.

INTERVIEW

His lyrics are written by others, but that doesn't stop him from singing his own story.

Julien Clerc publishes

Terrien

, a new album in which he sings in particular his Guadeloupe roots with

Ma petite terre

, written by Marc Lavoine, and his attachment for England with

Brexit

, written by Paul Ecole.

The singer tells in

Culture Médias

why he chose these two texts which resonate with his intimate story.

According to him, Marc Lavoine was nourished by the discussions they had together.

"A few years ago, Marc was on a radio station where he had a program, which was very good," recalls Julien Clerc.

"We did a great interview. I guess he was inspired by it."

"Brexit through a love story that has ended"

Especially since Marc Lavoine himself has a particular attachment to this theme.

"The West Indies are something that touches Marc a lot on a personal level. So he likes to dig that furrow in his texts", specifies Julien Clerc.

"He had already written me a song about Aimé Césaire, which was on the last album. And there, I find that he started again with happiness."

In

Terrien

, Julien Clerc also sings another island, less distant in geography, but now perhaps more distant in heart: England, where the singer lived for five years.

In the preparation of this new album, the lyricist Paul Ecole, who also works for Christophe Maé and Calogero, offered him the text of what has become the song

Brexit

.

"It's a very pretty and a little funny text, a very clever text", rejoices the singer.

"Because it tells about Brexit through a love story that has ended. So it's a good idea for a song."
