Just ten years ago, on March 11, a terrible 9.0 magnitude submarine earthquake, one of the most powerful on record, caused a devastating tsunami on the northeastern coast of Japan, also causing the most serious nuclear accident since the tragedy of Chernobyl in 1986. More than 18,000 people died or were missing, drowned by the giant wave, and tens of thousands of inhabitants had to flee the regions rendered uninhabitable by the radiation.

Ten after the Fukushima disaster, the photographer Nicolas Datiche was able to enter the exclusion zones deserted by the inhabitants.

A trip to the “no man's land” of the cities of Namie, Okuma and Futaba.
