At the group's annual meeting of shareholders on Tuesday, Disney CEO Bob Chapek announced that the streaming platform had reached 100 million subscribers, just sixteen months after its launch.

And Disney + now wants to reach 230 to 260 million subscribers by 2024.

The figure is impressive and reflects the rise of Disney +.

Driven by its attractive catalog, as well as those of Marvel and Pixar studios, Disney + has also been able to count on successful releases such as the second season of

or the new

WandaVision

series

In December, the group said they had already exceeded "the wildest expectations" with 86.8 million subscribers on December 2. 

Objective: to double the number of subscribers in three years

And the world number 1 in entertainment does not want to stop there, and hopes to see its number of subscribers double in the next three years, with a target of 230 to 260 million subscribers by 2024. 

Competition is therefore always stronger than ever between the various streaming services, foremost among which is Apple TV +, Amazon Prime Video, and the leader Netflix.

The latter, a pioneer of SVOD, recently exceeded 200 million users worldwide.
