Following the discovery of whitening cosmetics for men during the Spring and Autumn period in the archaeological research in Shaanxi, the team of Professor Yang Yimin from the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (National University of Science and Technology) recently cooperated with the Shanxi Provincial Academy of Archaeology, in Yuncheng City, Yuanqu County, Beibaige Women Zhou Dynasty cosmetics were found in the noble cemetery.

This is currently known as one of the earliest female cosmetics in the Central Plains of China, and the plant essential oil components detected in the analysis were discovered for the first time in ancient Chinese cosmetics.
