Earlier this week, Belarus announced its contribution.

The band Galasy Zmesta is behind the contribution Ya Nauchu Tebya.

According to Reuters, they have previously released songs that mocked the protests against President Alexander Lukashenko and representatives of the democracy movement, something that this song also does.

The event must be non-political

According to the EBU's rules, the Eurovision song contest should be a non-political event, but the EBU writes in a statement that this song challenges that rule with its political undertones.

If the song does not change, or if Belarus does not submit a new entry, the country may be disqualified from this year's competition.

Belarus has competed in the Eurovision song contest every year since 2004. But they have only reached the final six times so far. In September last year, the state-owned television company BTRC announced that last year's winner VAL would not represent Belarus in this year's competition.
