As part of his tour in Europe to talk about strengthening cooperation in the fight against climate change, John Kerry will make a stop today in Paris.

Emmanuel Macron receives this Wednesday the special envoy of the United States for the climate, indicated the French presidency.

On Tuesday, the former US Secretary of State has already met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, a first face-to-face meeting with EU officials since the change of government in Washington.

In France, "the discussion will focus on the next stages of international coordination in climate matters, and will be an opportunity for the French president to share with his interlocutor his vision of effective climate multilateralism," the Elysee said.

John Kerry will also have lunch with the Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire.

The fight against climate change was made a priority by President Joe Biden, who brought Washington back to the Paris agreement, almost four years after Donald Trump announced his withdrawal from his country.

Washington is also planning to organize an international climate summit on April 22, before the UN climate conference scheduled for November in Glasgow, Scotland, to monitor the Paris agreement.
