When talking about getting involved with archaeology, Guo Ming said, "because I like it."

According to Guo Ming, when she was a child, she liked to read adventure novels and to be exposed to novel things.

When she was admitted to college, she wanted to apply for archaeology but failed.

However, she did not give up. Instead, she passed an interdisciplinary master's degree in archaeology and museums at Nanjing University, and got her PhD all the way.

She laughed and said that the process of inter-professional archaeology examination was too difficult, so she was determined to keep doing archaeology.

After graduation, Guo Ming came to the Liaoning Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology to work for 17 years.

In the past 17 years, Guo Ming's love for archaeological work has continued unabated.

She said that she experienced excitement and tension from her archeological work. This job allowed her to surpass herself successfully and reaped a lot.

She told reporters that the excavation of cultural relics is usually a long process, and her joy also happens to come from this "hard-won" state. This joy and excitement will continue for a long time as the research deepens.

She said that in the eyes of the public, archaeological work has a "highlight" moment, but behind that is the hard work of archaeologists for years and decades.

Guo Ming said that archaeological research is the "childhood" of human beings. In this sense, archaeological work is of great significance.

Learning from the past, only by understanding the past can we know what made the present self.

As a front-line female archaeologist, Guo Ming said that women are patient and careful, which is indispensable for archaeological work.

She said that she hopes that the archaeology industry will get better and better, and that more women will be engaged in this industry.
