Jeff Bezos' divorce marries her children's teacher

MacKenzie Scott, the former wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, which is considered one of the richest women in the world, married a science teacher from Seattle, USA, while Bezos said he was "happy for her."


According to Bloomberg News, Scott's new husband, Dan Jewitt, a teacher at Lakeside Private School, said they plan to donate most of their fortune to charity, adding: “I am married to one of the most generous and kind people and I am happy to join her in her commitment. By transferring enormous financial wealth to serve others », in a post he wrote on his wife's website page of the Giving Pledge initiative that was founded by Bill Gates in 2010, to encourage the world's wealthiest people to donate money to help achieve lofty goals.


For his part, Bezos commented on the news of the marriage, saying in a statement: "Dan is a great man, and I am happy and excited for both of them."


Scott, 50, is the twenty-second richest person in the world with a net worth of $ 53.5 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, while Bezos ranks first with a fortune of $ 176.6 billion.


Since her divorce from Bezos in 2019, Scott has said she aspires to forfeit half of her fortune in philanthropy efforts, and last year she donated nearly $ 6 billion to charities.
