Part of the global envelope of 19 billion euros negotiated during the Ségur de la Santé will begin to arrive.

Jean Castex will release the first investments for hospitals and nursing homes on Tuesday during a trip to Nièvre, Matignon announced on Monday.

From Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire, a city which should benefit from around 45 million euros to renovate its dilapidated hospital center but also an Ehpad and build a nursing home, the Prime Minister will mark the second stage of the Ségur agreements signed last July and which resulted in salary increases for caregivers, amounting to 8.5 billion euros.

The second pillar is therefore this investment plan of 19 billion: a sum which includes both the assumption of hospital debt (13 billion) and investments for so-called priority projects (2.5 billion), the digital transition ( 2 billion) or nursing homes (1.5 billion).

Give pledges

Accompanied by the Minister of Health Olivier Véran, Jean Castex intends to put a boost, both to give pledges to a system still under high tension due to the coronavirus epidemic, but also to seize the opportunity of stimulus plan and its subsidies from the European Union which supplement these investments to the tune of 6 billion.

The Prime Minister will therefore unveil several envelopes on Tuesday, according to his services.

One of 650 million euros, delegated to the regional health agencies (ARS) "is in the process of being allocated": Jean Castex "will explain the way in which it is distributed and the projects which are born thanks to it", indicates Matignon.

It will also announce the release of 450 million euros for nursing homes, but also project financing, "mostly hospital", as in Cosne-sur-Loire, or even in Caen (500 million euros).

As many funds in 2022 as in 2021

In total, 3.3 billion euros must be injected in 2021 and 3.2 billion for 2022, it is specified at the Ministry of Health where it boasts of "amounts beyond measure" compared to previous plans .

The government also praises its "change of method", by an increased "deconcentration" of the decision for all projects whose amount is less than 150 million euros.
