On the occasion of World Glaucoma Week which takes place from March 7 to 13, we take stock of this eye disease, characterized by damage to the optic nerve.

Publicity

Most often caused by excessive internal pressure in the eye, it can lead to visual impairment, including loss of sight.

According to the World Glaucoma Association, this disease is the second leading cause of blindness in the world.

As glaucoma often progresses unnoticed by those affected, it is estimated that 50% of those affected in developed countries do not yet know it, with this figure reaching 90% in developing countries.

How to prevent, detect and treat it?
