After a month the White House is dogless again.

After a "biting incident", the three-year-old major and the 13-year-old champ had to leave the official residence of US President Joe Biden, US media reported on Monday.

The animals have been back in Biden's house in Wilmington, Delaware, since last week, it said.

The younger of the two German Shepherds showed aggressive behavior and jumped at, barked at and attacked employees and security personnel.

In addition, there was the aforementioned "biting incident" with a bodyguard - it was not known whether he was injured in the process.

No “First Dogs” had lived in the White House since Barack Obama's presidency ended.

Biden's predecessor, Donald Trump, was the first U.S. president in more than a century without a dog.

Jill Biden had tried to get used to it

Champ has been with Biden and his wife Jill since 2008.

The Bidens took the German Shepherd Major from the animal shelter in 2018.

He is the first shelter dog in the White House, according to Biden's team.

Just recently, the first lady said in an interview that she was getting the two four-legged friends used to their new home.

"They have to take the elevator, they are not used to that, and they go to the south lawn, where they are watched by a lot of people," she told NBC.

"So that's what I was obsessed with - accommodating everyone and calming them down."
