"Kin no Shachihoko", which shines in the castle tower of Nagoya Castle, was dropped on the ground on the morning of the 8th for the first time in 16 years.

In order to support the tourism industry affected by the new coronavirus, the executive committee created in Nagoya City and other cities carried out work on the morning of the 8th to lower the shining "Kin noshachihoko" in the castle tower of Nagoya Castle.

Two "Kin no Shachihoko", which are about 2.6 meters high and weigh about 1200 kg, were surrounded by a metal frame and were lifted by helicopter one by one before 8 am on the 8th.



Then, I was taken to the square next to the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium, about 300 meters away from the castle tower.



It was the first time in 16 years since the 2005 World Exposition, Aichi, Japan.

City officials checked the surface of "Kin no Shachihoko" for scratches and dirt, and then sprinkled water on it to wash it carefully.



"Kin no Shachihoko" will be exhibited at Ninomaru Square in Nagoya Castle from the 20th of this month to the 2nd of next month.



In addition, on the 6th of next month, after a special patrol exhibition at the roadside stations in Nakatsugawa City, Gifu Prefecture and Kiso Town, Nagano Prefecture, which were once the production areas of wood used in Nagoya Castle, from 10th next month. It will be exhibited at "Mitsukoshi Mae Hirobus" in the Sakae district of Nagoya until July 11.
