The ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, MacKenzie Scott, has remarried.

The philanthropist and author said yes to a chemistry teacher from Seattle.

They both announced this in a letter to the website of the nonprofit organization The Giving Pledge (a movement founded by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffett to promote the philanthropy of billionaires).

Scott's new husband said in the letter that he and his wife will be spending a lot of fortune on charity.

In the letter, he further stated that he had been a teacher for most of his life and had never "tried to raise the wealth needed for charity."

"And now, in one stroke of lucky coincidence, I'm married to one of the most generous and nicest people I know," it continued.

Billions already given away

Scott divorced Bezos since 2019.

Last July, she donated $ 1.68 billion to 116 nonprofits, universities, community development groups, and legal organizations.

In 2020 she gave away a total of $ 5.7 billion.

She was ranked second of the 50 Americans with the most charitable donations of the year on The Chronicle of Philanthropy newspaper's ranking.

In first place was Scott's ex-husband Bezos, who donated $ 10 billion to start the Bezos Earth Fund.
